DIGITISE YOUR VCR TAPES

DIGITISE YOUR MEDIA TO THE HIGHEST QUALITY YOU CAN AFFORD - AFTERWARDS WORRY ABOUT CREATING DVDS ETC.

Sony introduced the Betamax VCR format in May 1975.  In October 1976 JVC introduced the rival VHS format. Although many considered the Betamax format to be superior it eventually succumbed, and VHS became the prevalent format.

VHS-C is a variant of VHS designed to be used with early camcorders. VHS-C tapes are played by inserting them into a VHS convertor shell and then inserting the shell into a standard VHS VCR.

The majority of people viewing this site will have used, or at least seen a VHS recorder, many fewer a Betamax recorder. This is a shame, as there are probably tens of thousands of hours of fascinating Betamax footage sitting unloved in lofts and garages.

VCR Tape Restoration

As part of the digitising process something called Time Base Correction is performed. This can substantially improve the quality of the digitised video.  We also have hardware that amongst other things can repair colour bleed.
